Geotools is an interactive geophysical software system which integratesthe organization, processing, modeling, and final display ofmagnetotelluric data. Composed of three major modules working with arelational database, Geotools can be used for both onsite evaluation andfollow-up interpretation.Beginning with acquired data as either spectra or computed parameters,the data are mapped and processed according to a logical progression. Themapping module is used to view the position of sites, lines, wells, and2-D and 3-D models. Interactive processing lets the operator modifyrotations, mask poor data, edit curves, adjust static-shifts, and makemode identifications. Multiple user-defined windows provide the abilityto simultaneously view data in different formats. The 1-D, 2-D, and 3-Dmodeling capabilities assist pre-survey studies or the testing ofgeological sections with the mouse.Screen images, color maps, and data montages for any MT parameter can bewritten to industry-standard graphic formats for hard copy.
